Meet Begonia

Begonia Weslow, M.S. Licensed Educational Psychologist, LEP

Begonia Weslow is the founder and Chief Executive Office of Empower Bright Minds, Psychology and a Licensed Educational Psychologist.  With over 17 years of experience in education as a School Psychologist and Program Specialist in Ventura County, she has extensive knowledge in meeting the unique educational, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students from preschool through high school. Begonia specializes in working with neurodivergent and at-risk students in both charter and public-school settings and has advanced training in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Her skill set includes conducting comprehensive psycho-educational and bilingual assessments, performing functional behavior assessments, developing behavior support plans, and implementing ABA strategies. She is experienced in navigating complex IEP and 504 processes, participating in manifestation determination meetings and contentious IEPs, consulting with parents and teachers, leading mental health teams, delivering staff professional development, and providing evidence-based counseling for children and adolescents. As a fluent Spanish speaker, she can also conduct bilingual assessments.

Begonia is particularly skilled in working with students who have learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, and emotional or mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. Her diverse credentials, certifications, and continuing education reflect her commitment to ensuring that students receive tailored interventions and support to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. Begonia’s mission is to promote mindfulness, resilience, and the development of dynamic minds.
